Keith Metzger has been a LinkedIn user for years, but had never heard of JD Supra, a content syndicator for the legal community. The managing director of Equator Associates, a San Francisco-based consultancy, just learned about JD Supra after reading LinkedIn’s recent announcement that the social network would be adding a Legal Updates feature to its elite list of 16 applications.

Now, along with popular plug-ins like SlideShare and TripIt, LinkedIn’s 75-plus million members have access to lawyer-written articles. “I find it to be a really unique source of information that I wouldn’t have found in any other way unless I was paying my lawyer to give it to me,” says Metzger, who focuses on corporate development for digital marketing services.
