A working draft of rules to govern the electronic filing of court documents, under consideration by a special committee of the State Bar of Georgia, allows for the unprecedented sealing of court records by litigants, according to a media lawyer.
Additionally, the draft rules provide power to private technology vendors that could prove detrimental to the courts, lawyers, the public, and the news media, according to Peter C. Canfield, whose firm, Dow Lohnes, represents Cox Enterprises.
