Changes in ratings by the online lawyer directory Avvo that took effect at the start of the year have rankled some attorneys whose numbers fell.
About 3 percent of New Jersey’s roughly 36,000 practicing attorneys were affected, with an average change of .38 points, or 3.8 percent, according to Mark Britton, Avvo’s president and CEO, who says ratings are given annual adjustments to ensure their accuracy.
