RainMaker Software, a provider of financial and practice management and business intelligence software for mid-to-large law firms, has released XLerator with Dynamic Link. The Blue Bell, Pa., company designed the Excel add-in to directly link Microsoft Excel to information stored in databases. The company says the add-in combines three technologies: Microsoft .NET, service oriented architecture, and Windows Communication Foundation.
So how does it work? Using the XLerator Task Pane, select the information you are looking for from hundreds of data items. Then, within any spreadsheet, click on where you want to place the data. The selected information is then extracted from the database and placed into the spreadsheet. The data link can then be saved for future use.
