New York-based Viewpointe, a provider of electronic payment and digital storage products, has launched OnPointe, a hosted storage and records management product that offers customers the ability to scale their digital storage usage up or down — in a “pay-as-you-go” model.

The company says that this will eliminate a customer’s need to own and sustain expensive records management and storage systems, and can be configured to specific requirements (using a standard application programming interface). By integrating with a company’s existing internal security, as well as systems and infrastructure, customers can maintain control of their enterprise data by way of OnPointe’s collection, management, and archive technology. Viewpointe will ensure that data is safe, in a compliant, accessible location. Additionally, Viewpointe has geographically diverse and mirrored data centers, which the company believes will further protect data.
