Legal research provider Fastcase has announced a partnership with the Philadelphia Bar Association that will provide Pennsylvania state and federal cases, statutes, and rules for free to any firm whose attorneys are all members of the Bar. The Washington D.C.-based company will also offer Bar members access to its nationwide database at a discount: a premium subscription will cost $195 per member per year, instead of the usual cost of $995 annually. Discounts will also be applied to larger law firms that sign up for Fastcase’s Enterprise Edition.
Fastcase President Phil Rosenthal says the deal is demonstrative of the company’s ongoing efforts to “democratize the law,” and that its arrangement with the Philadephia Bar is “[expected] to save the top 25 firms of Philadelphia alone nearly $5M” in overhead costs.
