Burlington, Mass.-based Nuance Communications, a provider of speech and imaging solutions and maker of PDF Converter Professional for Microsoft Windows, has introduced PDF Converter for Mac, which allows Apple Mac users to create, convert, and edit PDF files for $99 — a fraction of the cost of Adobe Acrobat Professional X.
So what does the new Mac version of the PFDF Converter do? You can annotate and edit PDF files and add sticky-notes and highlights — the company hopes the features will make it easier to collaborate using the PDF format. Users can now also turn PDFs into editable text and documents, as the PDF Converter uses the Nuance OmniPage, which is an OCR and document conversion technology built into the Mac PDF Converter software.
