In the four weeks since patent litigator Matthew Powers left Weil, Gotshal & Manges to start his own firm, Tensegrity Law Group, he has hired three associates from his former firm and withdrawn from one case.

The three associates — Paul Ehrlich, Stefani Smith, and Robert Gerrity — worked closely with Powers on matters involving Apple, a client he said at the time he and Weil would share. Ehrlich has joined Tensegrity as a partner, while Smith and Gerrity are associates.
