Wednesday’s “[R]evolution: Industry Leaders Discuss Law2020 Hot Topics” presentation at the International Legal Technology Association conference was modeled on the provocative, short “ Ted Talks.” Each speaker was allocated nine minutes of air time to inspire or challenge the audience — rants were encouraged and PowerPoints forbidden discouraged.

I was privileged to be the moderator. ILTA’s organizer T.J. Johnson and I aimed for an international mix, with two “Brits” — Gareth Ash of Allen & Overy, and Janet Day of Berwin Leighton Paisner; Americans Doug Caddell of Foley & Lardner; Steve Fletcher of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein; John Green of Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz; and George Rudoy, who has just joined Hagen, Streiff, Newton & Oshiro. (Rudoy speaks five languages and was born in Russia, so he contributed to the global aspiration.)
