Document Technologies Inc. (DTI), a provider of legal support services and document outsourcing headquartered in Atlanta, has acquired Portland, Ore.-based Bridge City Legal. With the purchase, DTI has expanded into two new markets: Portland and Boise, Idaho. The acquisition adds a court reporting division that specializes in complex and construction-defect litigation.
In the announcement marking the deal, DTI CEO John Davenport Jr., said the purchase was a “natural fit” for his company, because of a common approach, “for delivering customized litigation and document management solutions that utilize expert resources and cutting edge technology.” Davenport says the combination will benefit customers of Bridge City, established in 1999, because of the “direct access to the resources and expertise of a larger, national company.” DTI said it will be able to better work with its law firm and corporate customers in the Pacific Northwest, he notes.
