Speedy resolution of cases has made the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia a popular venue for federal patent litigation.
The number of patent cases isn’t broken down by district. But judiciary figures show that 159 intellectual property cases, which include patent infringements, were filed in the four-court district during the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2010. That’s more than any of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal’s nine districts in five states.
