Apple’s new iPhone 4S includes applications that may appeal to lawyers, but the popular smartphone still lacks 4G wireless speeds and a removable battery.

The smartphone, announced Tuesday and available Oct. 14, adds software such as a speech recognition, location-aware reminders, a friends locator, and the previously announced iCloud service. It ships in black or white colors and has 16, 32, and 64 GB memory versions for $199, $299, and $399, respectively. It also has a faster processer and better camera than previous versions.
