The San Francisco city attorney’s office lost the first round in what promises to be a closely watched match over the city’s novel cell phone “right to know” ordinance.
Judge William Alsup of the Northern District of California last week blocked most of the law’s provisions on First Amendment grounds, and ordered major edits of a fact sheet before the city can force retailers to distribute copies.
