Law technology provider Epiq Systems took a giant leap forward in managed document review last week by acquiring De Novo Legal for $68 million, capping a year of large deals in the e-discovery field.
Epiq saw the majority of its revenue stem from e-discovery for the first time in 2011, and now aims to get two-thirds of its income from that field in 2012, company officials said. De Novo will provide an immediate revenue jump of 30-40 percent because its customer base has little overlap with Epiq’s, they further explained.
