Epson announced a new simplex, sheet-fed portable color scanner for the North American market: the WorkForce DS-30.
Portable simplex scanners like the DS-30 are one of the fastest-growing retail hardware segments according to NPD Group data on channel (reseller) sales from 2009-2011. This compares to my interest in maintaining document scanners in the office and carrying one in my briefcase when I am outside the office.
