Many claims in litigation can be resolved by knowing who got what, and when did they get it. In the paper world, couriers and the U.S. Post Office helped litigants answer these questions with proof that a customer sent a letter or package to a recipient that included, at the least, the destination and time of delivery.
Today, a number of companies are looking to help their customers transition from paper-based delivery mechanisms to electronic delivery services to verify who got what, when. Some of these companies are working with RPost, the manufacturer of Registered Email, which includes email proof of delivery, content, and the official time of delivery.
