Hewlett-Packard has hired a law firm in Washington, D.C, to lobby for it, paperwork filed with Congress last week shows.

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld is advocating on “[g]overnment information technology policy and acquisitions” for the Palo Alto, Calif.-based computer company, according to a lobbying registration report. Firm partner Barney Skladany Jr., senior adviser John Simmons, and policy adviser Bert Steele III are handling the account.
