March 30, the second and final day of open exhibits at the ABA TechShow at the Chicago Hilton, revealed interesting Illinois-based technology companies and featured a keynote address by Ben Stein, author, economist, and former speech-writer and trial lawyer. Stein focused on the notion that “the life of the law is not logic, but experience.”

Stein identified a number of problems related to today’s economy, education, and health, and declared that there is “a shortage of knowledge to solve problems.” The author then predicted that the solutions to problems will not come from movie stars but real stars, such as doctors, educators, lawyers, and police. With that, I went on with the ABA TechShow to see some of our own stars.
