Gavel & Gown Software has been building and selling practice management systems since the early 1990s. The Toronto-based companys flagship product, Amicus Attorney, was originally developed by its founder, attorney Ron Collins, who created the tool to help him with his own work. Today, Amicus Attorney is used by tens of thousands of law firms in more than 80 countries, the company says.
Earlier this year, Gavel & Gown rolled out an upgrade of its entire Amicus line, which includes Amicus Attorney Premium Edition 2012, Amicus Premium Billing 2012, Amicus Attorney Small Firm Edition 2012, Amicus Small Firm Accounting 2012, and Amicus Mobile 2012.
