Solo lawyers and small law firms that subscribe to Clio, a practice management software as a service, recently received access to an e-signature service to obtain signatures for documents and invoices online. Now Clio subscribers can send clients invoices or other documents for their signature, and even send documents to themselves to e-sign for further online processing, e.g., electronic filing with a court.

Based in Santa Barbara, Calif., RightSignature supplies electronic signatures via software as a service. I signed up for a free account on RightSignature.com to get started. After providing my personal information, I clicked on my account and selected a tab for integrations. There I found Clio and other services such as Dropbox, Microsoft SkyDrive, and Google Docs. I selected Clio and granted RightSignature access to certain information (documents, invoices, and client directory) in my Clio account. After a few minutes, RightSignature informed me that the integration was successful. See Figure 1.
