First To File, based in San Mateo, Calif., announced that its intellectual property management software as a service, the Electronic File Room, now integrates with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s e-Office Action notification system. The company claims that this “significantly reduces PTO correspondence processing overhead,” in a press release announcing the partnership.

How does it work? First To File offers as one of its primary products the Electronic File Room (EFR), which the company’s website says is the “first true digital suite of products for IP management.” EFR organizes cases into electronic files and serves as a means for automation, electronic workflow, form generation, searching, as well as e-filing.
