LexisNexis on Monday unveiled the cloud version of its Concordance Evolution document management software for litigation. It’s the first of several applications in the company’s e-discovery product catalog that will move online, leading to a new, all-in-one system to be revealed next year.
Hosted versions of e-discovery software are not groundbreaking, but the transition is a major one for New York-based LexisNexis, which some legal professionals view as excelling at online services yet being slow to innovate in traditional software. Company officials, in explaining their optimism that the project meets customer desires, emphasized their experience hosting large-scale applications, such as the core Lexis.com research service, Lexis Advance, and Concordance FYI collaboration software.
