I opened a solo law practice this year, primarily working out of my home office. When I started my practice I needed a scanner and my printer needed an upgrade, so I bought a multifunction printer with fax and scan features. The MFP is a good machine and it gets the job done, but the device annoys me when it scans a large document, e.g., a 35-page double-sided writ. I usually load the machine, press the Scan button, and go do something else for ten minutes until it’s done.
This month, LTN sent me a Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 color scanner to review. The first thing I noticed about this machine is its speed. It is super fast, even when it is scanning double-sided or full-color documents. Most of the time, by the time I press Scan and start thinking about what I’m going to do with the document, the ScanSnap has sent the scanned output to my computer and my computer is asking me where I want to put the file.
