Attorney Mark Michels, the former litigation manager and discovery counsel at Cisco Systems, has joined Deloitte Financial Advisory Services, as a director, specializing in electronic data discovery. Michels, a frequent contributor to Law Technology News, will be based in San Jose, Calif.
Michels has long been active in the e-discovery community, and has been a member of the Georgetown Law Advanced E-Discovery Institute Advisory Board since 2005. He has lectured on advanced patent litigation at the University of Santa Clara School of Law, and that topic was a favorite in his LTN articles. His most recent contribution was a July article analyzing activity affecting the International Trade Commission, where concerns about patent delays and trolls were top issues.
