Trying to choose which educational sessions to attend at the International Legal Technology Association’s 2012 annual meeting is as difficult as selecting only three See’s candies from the iconic two-pound box of exquisite chocolates. With more than 200 panels scheduled during the five-day conference, which has drawn 3,000 attendees, there were 14 options at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with topics ranging from PDFs, LinkedIn, Help Desks, Requests for Proposals and ISO certification, legal practice management, the future of practice support, wireless, Citrix, and more. The conference is in progress at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, near Washington, D.C., in National Harbor, Md.

Being just a little obsessed with trying to digest some of the new concepts under the buzzword “Big Data,” I headed for “Data Warehouses, Dashboards, and Data Integration: Delivering Actionable Intelligence.” The panel included Gina Lynch and Tracy Elmblad from Bingham McCutchen; Steve Lewis from Fried Frank; and Douglas Horton from Handshake Software. It was an excellent choice.
