Chelmsford, Mass.-based Biscom Inc. has integrated its faxing and secure file transfer technologies in Biscom Secure Fax, which brings security and auditing features to the sending and receiving of facsimile documents. Law firms that need to protect client confidentiality in electronic communications and organizations seeking compliance with government regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley or HIPAA should benefit from the service.

Users activiate the service by specifying an email address rather than a fax number for delivery. An email informs recipients of a delivery, which they can authenticate and download via an embedded link in the email. Once the files have been received and accessed, the sender receives a confirmation email.
