Unlike California earthquakes, hurricanes announce their travel plans in advance, giving the East Coast legal technology community time to “clean the house” before Sandy knocked on the door. Monday morning, Law Technology News took a quick poll of law firms, vendors and other legal professionals and found that most organizations were taking the Boy Scout mantra, “Be Prepared,” to heart.

Tom Ranalli, associate director, desktop applications engineering at Kirkland & Ellis, reports that the firm “closed our New York and Washington, D.C., offices today. Tomorrow’s plans are to be determined, depending on the storm’s outcome,” he said, from sunny Los Angeles.
