Marshalltown, Iowa-based Mechdyne Corporation has announced the launch of Connection Portal, remote access software that brings together distributed computer assets such as applications, data sets, and CPUs in a web-based interface. Connection Portal enables real-time collaboration across long distances by providing browser access to an organization’s computers, meeting spaces, and people.

Users can utilize shared CPU resources such as blade server clusters, access datasets from remote locations, and share desktops and conference room screens. Computers are managed from one centralized data center, reducing ownership costs and maintenance issues such as hardware cooling.
