Patrick Burke joins Reed Smith’s New York office as counsel in the firm’s Records and E-Discovery (RED) Group. Burke comes to the RED Group from the industry side, having served as senior director and assistant general counsel at Guidance Software Inc., an e-discovery and forensic software provider based in Pasadena, Calif.
Prior to Guidance, Burke served as co-head of the E-Discovery Working Group at Linklaters, where he was a U.S. litigation associate. He has also served as technology counsel for nMatrix, now Epiq Systems, and was a litigator for Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison and at Seward & Kissel. He holds Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) certification and teaches "E‑Discovery, Digital Evidence and Computer Forensics" at New York’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he is an adjunct professor.
