Law Technology News wishes you and your families a safe, happy holiday season. As we look forward to the new year, we are reprising some of the best stories of 2013. During the year, law schools drew much attention as Big Law jobs plummeted and college graduates became skeptical about incurring more education debt without the prospect of high-salary employment. Meanwhile critics continued to question traditional curriculum. Our June issue included a cover story about Stanford University’s innovative law school, and we also profiled Daniel Martin Katz—of the law faculty at Michigan State University’s College of Law. Katz and his followers are determined to shake up the legal profession, as LTN’s Editor-in-Chief Monica Bay chronicled in “Assassins Aim to Reinvent Big Law.”
You might think Daniel Martin Katz was running for office. His blog, computationallegalstudies.com, highlights his “Campaign Trail,” with tightly scheduled conferences across the globe. In December, it was ReInventLaw Dubai 2012; then six events before ReInventLaw in Silicon Valley in March and a quick stop in New York for an intimate program at Fordham University School of Law, followed by an April keynote at Stanford Law’s CodeX Conference in April.
