ABBYY Software has released the OCR Recognition Server, a software product that helps users with automated document processing. Recognition Server uses OCR (optical character recognition) to convert document images and paper documents into fully-searchable electronic text; it also includes features for PDF conversion. The server-based software is scalable and recognizes 190 different languages. It was released with Tallega Software, and is compatible with various third-party applications, including Microsoft and Google products.
ABBYY also announced the release of FlexiCapture 10, also for document processing. FlexiCapture helps users extract data from paper documents, including hand-written forms. The update includes new features for classifying, managing, and extracting data from multiple document streams.
