The United States government makes the vast majority of requests for user information on Twitter and those requests are increasing, the San Francisco-based company reported Wednesday.
That was the main takeaway from Twitter Inc.’s transparency report , which tallies up the number of requests for user information Twitter received from governments worldwide, usually in response to pending criminal investigations or copyright infringement notices. The report covers the first six months of 2013 and is the third report issued by the social networking site since 2012.
