LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell and Internet Brands today announced a joint venture to market legal services. MH offers marketing tools for lawyers, including its Lawyers.com website that targets consumers. Internet Brands offers online marketing services to lawyers through its Nolo legal division. The transaction is expected to close during Q4 2013, the companies said.

In April 2011, Internet Brands acquired the 40-year-old, Berkeley, Calif.-based highly-respected Nolo, which offered self-help publications and other offerings to consumers, targeting those who could not afford traditional lawyer fees, but made too much money to qualify for legal aid services. The acquisition was rumored to cost just shy of $21 million, noted Richard Granat, on his eLawyering Blog.
