Eleven law firms have signed up with Microsystems to guard against unwanted disclosure of metadata.

In a Tuesday, Oct. 1 press release, Microsystems announced that the firms, a mixture of large, midsize, and small law firms, had all recently chosen 3BClean as their metadata scrubber. According to Microsystems’s website, 3BClean scrubs unwanted metadata from Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files, as well as PDF and ZIP files. The program also helps users clean documents before posting them to an extranet, portal, or deal room. Users can also define what type of metadata is to be deleted.
