Jason R. Baron, director of litigation in the Office of General Counsel of the National Archives and Records Administration, had an interesting day last week. Or, we should say, an interesting hour.

“I was sent home on Tuesday, Oct. 1, as a nonessential worker—a definite blow to one’s ego!” said Baron, one of the many workers furloughed because of the federal government shutdown. But within an hour of learning that expected news, he had a job offer. It wasn’t from Uncle Sam, it was from Drinker Biddle & Reath—to serve as of counsel in its information governance and e-discovery group, lead by co-chairs Bennett Borden and Jay Brudz. Baron said yes.
