IT-Lex, an organization that promotes educational and scientific advances in the field of technology law, will hold its inaugural “Innovate Conference” on Thursday and Friday at The Alfond Inn in Winter Park, Fla.

Eleven panels are scheduled for the conference, which will cover areas of technology law ranging from cyberprivacty to e-discovery to social media. One panel will look at the future of predictive coding and will consist of three prominent proponents of technology assisted review: Jason R. Baron, of counsel at Drinker, Biddle & Reath (and the former director of litigation at the National Archives); Maura Grossman, of counsel at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz; and Ralph Losey, a partner at Jackson Lewis. U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of Columbia John Facciola and U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Illinois (retired) Nan Nolan will preside over a judicial roundtable looking at hot-button issues in technology and law. Another panel focusing on information security and was set to feature Peter Miller, the Federal Trade Commission’s chief privacy officer, but according to IT-Lex co-founder Adam Losey, of Foley and Lardner, Miller’s participation is now in doubt due to the government shutdown.
