The constant evolution of U.S. patent law doesn’t make it easy for businesses to stay current on American intellectual property rules–particularly when lawyers write them. So two shareholders at IP law boutique Volpe and Koenig have teamed up to offer practical advice, mostly for tech startups, on protecting and monetizing their ideas-turned-products.

Intellectual Property in Consumer Electronics, Software and Technology Startups” is a guide written by Volpe president Jay Halt Jr., shareholder John Donch Jr., former law clerk Amber Stiles and Robert Fesnak, a managing partner of Philly accounting firm Fesnak and Associates. The book is a big-picture snapshot of IP law today. According to the Oct. 10 press release, it also contains detailed information on procuring, utilizing and monetizing intellectual property rights.
