It’s not a stretch to think that lawyers who stay on top of cutting edge trends in technology also have a well-honed awareness of current events.

Even then, most of the lawyers, judges, and computer science professionals at the inaugural IT-Lex “ Innovate Conference” in Winter Park, Fla., probably weren’t ready for John Facciola, a United States magistrate judge in the District of Columbia, to talk about Miley Cyrus and her infamous “twerking” episode from the MTV Video Music Awards in August.
