In May, 2005, EDRM (www.edrm.net ) launched with a lofty goal: to address the lack of standards and guidelines in the electronic data discovery market. The next year, the group published the Electronic Discovery Reference Model, and EDRM began to grow into a strong coalition of consumers and providers who work together to create practical resources to improve EDD. Over the years, it has expanded its purview into the broader information governance arena.
This October, participants at EDRM’s midyear meeting reached a momentous decision: By May 2014, EDRM will become a nonprofit organization.
