The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration announced today that the agency has amended its guidelines on passenger use of portable electronic devices to allow personal electronic devices to be used during all phases of flight, according to a press release.
“We believe today’s decision honors both our commitment to safety and consumers’ increasing desire to use their electronic devices during all phases of their flights,” said Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx in the statement. The revised guidelines are expected to be implemented immediately within the airline industry.
