On a recent weekend, I undertook and completed a task I thought about for years but honestly believed I’d never attempt. It was not a technology task at all. Rather, it was the painting of the 18-foot-high foyer in my house.
Armed with nothing more than a 12-foot-long wooden telescoping extension pole, a new best friend at the local Benjamin Moore shop, and a bevy of accessories to attach to the end of said 12-foot pole, I somehow overcame the many, many internal barriers to starting the chore (fear, uncertainty, doubt and laziness, to name a few) and was surprisingly able to knock out the job in 12 hours or so.
