Saying that the “information governance workforce is nascent—and management responsibility for IG is unclear or unassigned at most organizations,” three activists in the e-discovery circuit will launch a new organization on Feb. 3, the day before LegalTech New York kicks off.

Called the Information Governance Initiative, its mission is “to provide a home for a cross-discipline discussion around IG,” said Barclay Blair, who is the principal of ViaLumina, a New York-based consultancy. Blair will serve as executive director. Bennett Borden, chair of information governance and e-discovery at Drinker Biddle & Reath, and Jason R. Baron, of counsel at the firm, will co-chair the group’s advisory board.
