Everyone in my family knows how much I like Scott Pelley of the “CBS Evening News.” I’m not even sure why that is the case. I suppose it is because I perceive him to be a hardworking newsman who paid his dues as a solid long-time reporter, and I view him as exceptionally fair-minded and professional.
It’s kind of humorous that anyone in the house who even thinks about putting on Diane Sawyer or Brian Williams weeknights at 6:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. Central time) knows they will be surely subject to a stern tongue-lashing! (Note: I don’t dislike either of them, just like Pelley more). So I thought it might be fun to put together a newscast in the venerable style of Pelley, thinking about some of the technology lessons we all can learn from the typical news of the day.
