When most of us dream of a “paperless office” we usually imagine someone scanning our snail-mail and banishing piles of unsightly paper. But what about all those picturesque reference books you keep on the shelf? Rulebook is a single iPad app that can supply multiple federal and state court rules along with a slew of other legal manuals, books and resources.
Developed by Greg Hoole, a practicing litigator, Rulebook is free but each book and rule set is acquired through an in-app purchase. Federal rules usually cost $1.99 and state rules run $2.99 each. You only purchase the sets you need and they download immediately. Not every state is available yet, but additional jurisdictions are added based on demand. The current list is here.
