A Texas-based law firm is refusing to change the name of its chief technology officer title despite an opinion from the Texas State Bar’s Professional Ethics Committee saying that the word “officer” should be removed. Dallas-based Kurt Geisler, CTO at Haynes and Boone, will keep his title for the time being, said a representative for the firm who insisted on anonymity.
“We understand that this opinion is under appeal and we will be making no changes until the appeal is resolved,” the representative said in an interview with Law Technology News.
