An emergency situation, including a data breach, can best be handled with three steps: prepare, prevent, recover. That was the message from a panel of IT professionals discussing how to navigate through a tumultuous security rift at the International Legal Technology Association conference in Nashville last week.

The Thursday panel, “Into the Breach: Prepare, Prevent and Recover,” featured Robert Newman, an associate at Winston & Strawn, Deena Coffman, CEO of IDT911 Consulting, and Tedrick Housh, a partner at Lathrop & Gage.
