U.S.D.C. Magistrate Judge John Facciola (District of Columbia) presented the University of Florida’s E-Discovery Project Fall 2014 Distinguished Lecture Monday. With characteristic wit and wisdom, Facciola—who has announced that he will be retiring from his post in December—took the opportunity to reflect on his 17 years of service as a magistrate judge. His 50-minute presentation was packed with anecdotes, personal experiences, and profound and sobering reflections about the disruptive changes affecting his job, the law, attorneys and the courts.
