Diversity in the legal discovery field was one of the topics highlighted at the 2014 Electronic Discovery Institute Leadership Summit in Fort Lauderdale earlier this month.
At the summit, EDI announced that it has established a diversity committee, with the goal of fostering inclusiveness within the organization and its programs and events—from hiring practices to management positions to work product. The committee also has created the EDI Diversity Statement and EDI Pledge—the brainchild of Patrick Oot, general counsel of EDI and partner at Shook, Hardy and Bacon, and Ashish Prasad, board member and executive editor of EDI’s Distance Learning Program.
