Peter Vogel, a partner at Gardere Wynne Sewell, drawing on recent reports by IBM and an affiliated company (Fiberlink) highlights the importance of privacy policies in the bring your own device era, in this recent blog post.
Vogel says two of the most important questions to ask about privacy policies are what data is collected from employees’ devices and what personal data is never collected. He mentions the report indicates certain state privacy laws prevent corporations from viewing bring your own device data, so the importance of communicating clear privacy policies at the outset is integral.
