Guidance Software Inc. released EnCase Remote Recovery Plus on Oct. 14. Based on the EnCase platform, the new product enables IT staff to remotely recover deleted files on network computers without disrupting users. Help desk staff can also use Remote Recovery Plus to gather system information and view Windows event logs to troubleshoot computer and network configuration and performance issues.

EnCase technology has traditionally been used in computer forensic investigations and e-discovery to interrogate endpoints and collect files and system information that can be used in an investigation or litigation. With Remote Recovery Plus, the EnCase platform is easily applied to file recovery requirements in law firms and other organizations at an affordable price.
